Through an agreement with Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine, fourth-year medical students may complete visiting rotations at the School of Medicine at Keio University, founded in 1917. Clinical education at Keio occurs on the Shinanmachi campus. Their clinical education model places emphasis on communicative competence and medical expertise.

Rotation Details
Feinberg students are generally assigned to one attending with whom they shadow on rotations on a daily basis and then work with various other doctors and residents several times per week. A typical day at the hospital will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students have had success making connections with Japanese students via the rotations. Rotations that last longer than four weeks may also be available at certain times of the year and depending on the specific rotation.

Accommodations
Students may stay at the Daikyocho Guest House for 2,000 JPY/day or approximately $14 USD. The housing fees are generally paid by the student upon check-in, and the guest house requests payment by credit card or cash. The guest house has apartment-style dormitories and is furnished with a desk, dining table, kitchen, toaster oven, microwave, bathroom and washing machine but no dryer. Linens are provided, a washing machine is provided in each room and there is internet access via a Wi-Fi connection. The guest house is located near the Shinanomachi Campus and the Shinanomachi Station on the JR Chuo Sobu Line. Students may consider purchasing a JR Rail Pass, which provides unlimited train travel throughout the city and Japan on a weekly basis.
