First Annual Global Health Knowledge Hub Joint Conference to Focus on Bidirectional Partnership

October 2024

The inaugural Global Health Knowledge Hub Joint Conference is an exciting opportunity to draw together global health researchers, educators, and students to celebrate and discover more about global health research, education, and outreach efforts throughout the world. Founded in 2024, the Stellenbosch University and Northwestern University Global Health Knowledge Hub arose out of a two-decade long partnership between the two universities, with a distinct mutual desire for continued growth in bidirectional partnership. The conference reinforces this partnership through collaborative global health research.

The conference will be hosted alternate years at Northwestern University and Stellenbosch University, with the first annual event being held in Stellenbosch, South Africa on March 17-18, 2025, at Stellenbosch University. The event will include a poster session, keynote address, networking opportunities, and more. Internal and external students, faculty, community members, and partners from all disciplines are welcome to participate and apply to present posters on projects relevant to global health.

Thematic areas of the conference include global primary care, biomedical engineering, health professions education, and climate, health, and environmental engineering. Conference participants will have the opportunity to build relationships and foster collaborations between the two institutions.
