Northwestern University will hold its first intramural global health case competition in 2014. Teams will be made up of undergraduate and graduate students across various schools and disciplines who will compete to develop innovative, feasible, and sustainable global health recommendations. Teams will be presented with a case study outlining global health challenges in the fields of public health, law, policy, engineering, etc… and will be tasked with designing an intervention and corresponding presentation. The goal of the global health case study competition is to train the next generation of leaders through a unique competition experience built upon a real-world challenge.
- The NU Global Health Case Competition is scheduled for Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15, 2014.
- The winning team from NU will be sponsored to compete in Emory's International Global Health case competition which is scheduled from Friday, March 28 through Sunday, March 30.
- Application Deadline - Friday, January 10 (Early applications are encouraged)
- Notification of Team Assigntment - Friday, January 17
The competition is being co-sponsored by the Program in African Studies, Office for International Program Development, the Buffett Center, and the Center for Global Health.
International Emory Global Health Case Competition
The winning team of the Northwestern case competition will be sponsored to compete in Emory University’s Global Health Case Competition in Atlanta, which brings together over twenty teams from universities around the world to design practical solutions to everyday global health problems. Travel expenses will be paid by Northwestern.
Note: Participants do not need to commit to attend the Emory competition in order to particpate in NU's intramural competition.
