- MODULE 1: Cultural Competency Course by Unite for Sight
The Unite for Sight course consists of several modules that address common emotions and frustrations associated with cultural differences (culture shock). The challenges of facing poverty, language/literacy barriers, perceptions of time and your role as a healthcare provider in a new environment can be difficult. Both expectations as well as coping mechanisms are outlined in these modules. - MODULE 2: Global Health Ethics Cases developed by Stanford and John’s Hopkins
This is a series of cases that address some of the ethical challenges faced by the volunteer. It is based on guidelines that address the benefits and harms of short-term global health training. It is geared toward students but can be useful for faculty.
